We have the following vacancy available within Te Hononga Hou Mental Health and Addiction services that works towards strengthening connections, supporting resilience and promoting recovery.
Vacancy 093/2020: Community Support Worker, He Waka Toki Project, Te Hononga Hou Mental Health & Addictions services – Bay of Islands area – (0.5 Fte / 20 hours per week)
The successful applicant will provide support services for our whanau within the He Waka Toki project that works towards reducing the harm of methamphetamine and other drug use to individuals, whānau and the social fabric of small communities with the long-term goal to build community resilience.
This part time role (20 hours per week) will assist in providing support for existing and rehabilitated users of methamphetamine (and other illicit substances and/or addictions) based at a ‘drop in hub’ initially in Kawakawa, and later extending to virtual ‘drop in’ hubs to outlying communities. Programmes and activities are kaupapa Māori based. This role will also involve supporting both 1-1 and group facilitation sessions.
