Tane Day

Nga tane o Ngati Hine Health Trust at a hui at Kawakawa Fire Station in March

Outnumbered by wahine 3-1 and spread thinly throughout the organisation, our tane are forever in the minority. So it made sense to call a hui in March for tane to get together and discuss their role within Ngati Hine Health Trust . This includes not only their role on the taumata but also within the organisation in general.

The day was a success

The hui provided nga tane with the opportunity to network with each other and also discuss common issues. Korero covered their roles within the organisation. They discussed not only how to awhi, support and share their knowledge and skills with each other but also how they can best support nga wahine o Ngati Hine Health Trust as well.

What next?

Out of the hui came the commitment to support each other in the roles that tane are called upon to do that are outside the scope of their day to day work (eg heavy lifting, taumata roles etc) . There will also be follow up hui and professional development opportunities.
