Ngati Hine Health Trust (NHHT) kaimahi were proud to get in behind to support the opening of the Whakamana Tangata Addictions Support and Recovery Community Hub on the Main Road in Moerewa last week. This community led kaupapa aims to support anyone in the community going through addiction, in recovery or wanting a space to just be. Not just a place for addictions but support of any kind, court, housing, hardship, wellbeing and a place for the people.

Helena Mcgee one of the key initiators of the kaupapa shared her story and experiences with methamphetamine, prison, rehab and how she broke the cycle. Ngati Hine Health Trust kaimahi being a part of her journey to recovery. Many local speakers shared their stories and Minister Kelvin Davis and MP Willow Jean Prime along with NHHT kuia Aunty Belle helped to open the hub.
