Nga mihi kau ana kia rangatira Kevin Prime, Patron of Ngāti Hine Health Trust who was recently recognised in the King’s Birthday Honours roll for his services to Māori, environment and health with a Companion of the Order (CNZM). In 2016, he received an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for his services to conservation and Māori.
Kevin played a key role in the development of Ngāti Hine Health Trust since its inception in 1992. A beef farmer, forester, beekeeper and conservationist, Kevin is currently a commissioner with the Environment Court. He has worked with a number of organisations in areas of conservation, justice, Māori development, education, environment, forestry, farming and sport. Kevin is married to Margaret Prime and they have 13 tamariki and a growing number of mokopuna.
