The Paiheretia Te Muka Tangata hui a iwi was held in Torongare with representatives from the Trust, Corrections, Te Puni Kokiri, Te Ha Oranga and Te Hauora o Ngapuhi.
The hui provides an open forum for each entity to whakawhitiwhiti kōrero around successes and challenges of delivering the programme which is aimed at supporting tangata and their whānau throughout the Corrections process.
Jax Kareko, kaiarahi for Paiheretia, says there's been massive progress to advance the kaupapa which, up until now, has been largely delivered at the Northland Region Corrections Facility at Ngawha.
"One of our goals was to extend this programme to support our Taitokerau wāhine at the Women's Correction's Facility in South Auckland.
"It has been a challenging journey, but we are extremely pleased to announce this is now a reality and delivery will commence at the end of July."
