Speak Up, Stand Together, Stop Bullying: Pink Shirt Day

19 May 2023: Ngāti Hine Health Trust kaimahi fully supported the Mental Health Foundations fundraising efforts for Pink Shirt Day on Friday 19 May throughout the mid-North. Kia Piki Te Ora co-ordinator, Shaness Parkinson, joined up with local community service providers at Simpson Park Hall where pink was the entry card to wrap up a successful Youth Week.

The Pink Shirt Day event drew whānau and taitamariki together with plenty of activities and educational resources to recognise, stand up and stamp out bullying behaviour. At the Trusts' Te Waiwhenua whare (pictured above, with aunty Belle front and centre xox) the team raised a whopping $1029.00 with their 'have a go' dead-lift competition. Organiser, Kaelyn Taylor, said it was a great experience and is looking forward to taking it to another level next year.
