Te Matatini Herenga Waka, Herenga Tangata

The echoes of kapa haka are still actively resonating in the hearts, minds (and ears) of all those who performed, participated and supported the spectacular event that was Te Matatini, Herenga Waka, Herenga Tangata.

Over three days, 45 teams from around the motu, vying for a Top 12 placing, brought their ihi, their wehi and their wana on the impressive atamira erected at Ngā Ana Wai (Eden Park).

A collective pride emanated when Te Tai Tokerau kapa  took the stage - going off the Richter when Hātea and Waerenga Te Kaha owned it with their next level performances!

Ngāti Hine Health Trust were extremely proud to support our kaimahi (8 in total) in their preparation to get to Te Matatini and acknowledge their collective efforts in the lead-up to and during this auspicious, global event!
